For our executive chef and founder, Rachel Hersch, baking has been a lifelong passion. Learning everything from her mom, the first dessert Rachel made was chocolate mousse from her Mickey Mouse cookbook. As the years went by she constantly challenged herself with more complicated recipes, from profiteroles to petit fours.
In 2004, Rachel realized that her hobby was really her professional calling. She enrolled at the California School of Culinary Arts and has committed her life to baking ever since. She went on to hone her craft in the pastry kitchen of the renowned Campanile restaurant where she discovered her talent for creating her own recipes.
Rachel finally decided to strike out on her own and established
Whisk LA in 2008. With encouragement from her fans, Rachel works tirelessly everyday to introduce the sweet tooths of Los Angeles to her original sweet bakings.
